In a distressing incident at Dato Keramat LRT Station on the evening of 9:05 pm yesterday (1 Dec), a man succumbed to severe injuries sustained after falling onto the tracks.

According to China Press, the man, initially trapped under the train, was pronounced dead by the medical team from the Ministry of Health (KKM) at the scene.

As per the latest updates from the scene, the KKM medical staff, upon arrival and assessment, confirmed the fatality of the individual who fell onto the tracks and was trapped under the train.

Police, firefighters, and other rescue units were actively involved in the recovery of the deceased’s body.
According to the Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department Operation Commander Mohd Fabell Md Yasin, the department received a distress call at 9.05 tonight about the incident.
He said that collaborative efforts between the LRT technician and firefighters facilitated the extraction of the victim.

The LRT technician successfully reversed the train, allowing firefighters to remove the victim’s body from the LRT track.
Investigations ongoing
The circumstances leading to the man’s fall from the LRT platform remain uncertain.
Investigations are ongoing to determine whether it was a deliberate act of self-harm or an accidental fall.
RapidKL has also issued an update on the Kelana Jaya line’s operations.
“For safety reasons, train services at Dato’ Keramat station are temporarily suspended. Passengers are advised to use the free shuttle bus services provided between Damai, Dato’ Keramat, and Jelatek stations.”
As of 6:20am today, RapidKL issued a separate statement confirming that the technical issue at Dato’ Keramat Station has been successfully resolved.
It is also understood that the alternative train and free shuttle bus services have been discontinued. The schedule has been adjusted, and train services are operating as usual.
