Suicides, both successful and unsuccessful attempts, are becoming more prevalent and commonplace in recent weeks as many struggle in silence while battling their inner demons.
Another life was claimed by an alleged suicide which took place yesterday at a condo in Johor Bahru and is now under police investigation.
26yo M’sian woman jumps off condo in JB
According to Oriental Daily, the victim was a 26-year-old woman who allegedly jumped off a high-end condo in Johor Bahru.
Photos of the scene were also shared to a Facebook group, where it showed her lifeless body laid on one of the floors of the condo with several policemen looking on.
It was also understood that the tragedy took place yesterday (June 20) and that screams were heard at the premises prior to the incident.
Some netizens also claimed that this was the second case of suicide at the same condo, where another resident attempted suicide during the Movement Control Order (MCO) but fell into the pool instead. However, this has yet to be verified.
Police investigating
In a brief conversation with Oriental Daily, Johor Baru South police chief Assistant Commissioner Raub Selamat said the victim was a local woman and was a resident of the condo.
When asked whether she had any record of mental issues, he said police are still working on investigations and that the body has been sent to the Johor Bahru Hospital for an autopsy.
