A foreign man who stirred public outrage by damaging rear windshield wipers of several cars in Batu Pahat has been taken into police custody.
The Batu Pahat District Police has confirmed the arrest, stating that officers from the Motorcycle Patrol Unit (URB) apprehended the 25-year-old suspect.

The incident, captured in a viral video, occurred near the Batu Pahat Bus Terminal around 3.30pm on Sunday (Oct 20),” the police report said.
Batu Pahat District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani also said that the police also disclosed that the suspect was carrying a folding knife in his duffel bag at the time of his arrest.

In addition to vandalism charges, the suspect is being investigated under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/1963 for staying in Malaysia without valid documents.
The motive behind the man’s actions remains unclear.
His behavior was widely condemned after a video showing him breaking wipers from multiple parked cars quickly gained attention online.
