She recounted that despite suffering fractures in his legs and pelvis, Ang was conscious upon arrival at the hospital and could communicate with the doctors, expressing intense pain in his lower body before tragically passing away at approximately 5:32 am.

Police: Suspect found to have strong smell of alcohol

Kampar District police chief superintendent Mohamad Nazri Daud told Guang Ming Daily that the accident involved a Proton Wira and a motorcycle.

The motorcycle, carrying the two UTAR students, was hit violently by the car, resulting in multiple fractures for Ang Wei Zhe, who later died from his injuries.

Ng Jin Jin sustained serious injuries and was taken to Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Ipoh before being transferred to Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

The car’s driver, 26-year-old security guard Matan Lai (transliteration), did not suffer any injuries.

Nazri mentioned that the car, driven by the suspect, crossed the median strip and collided forcefully with the motorcycle carrying the students.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the car entered the opposite lane, colliding with the motorcycle which was traveling legally.

“The scene of the accident, a five-lane dual carriageway, had good weather, adequate night lighting, a dry road surface, and light traffic at the time of the incident,” he reportedly said.

Police found substantial bloodstains on the vehicle debris at the site, indicating the severity of the crash.
