A nasi bajet trader in Ipoh suffered losses of around RM2,000 after two men allegedly stole her cash box and mobile phone while pretending to buy food from her stall.
The incident took place at a nasi bajet stall in Lebuh Meru Raya, Ipoh, at around 12pm today.
Came to the stall on a motorcycle
According to Kosmo!, Ipoh district police chief Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Najib Hamzah said police received a report from the 21-year-old victim on the same day.

At the time of the incident, the victim was running her stall and packing food when two men arrived on a Yamaha Y15ZR motorcycle.
The duo had allegedly approached the stall as customers to buy food.
Allegedly stole cash box and phone
While the trader was busy packing the rice, the suspects took the opportunity to steal her cash box, which contained cash, as well as her mobile phone.

They then fled the scene on the motorcycle towards Bulatan Meru Raya.
The total loss suffered by the victim was estimated to be around RM2,000, involving both the cash and the phone.
Incident went viral online
The case later gained attention on social media after a live TikTok recording of the incident was uploaded online.

In the screenshot shared by the original poster, she claimed that the incident happened at her mother’s stall, Nasi Bajet Yanti, in Meru, Ipoh.
She also urged members of the public, especially those in the area, to help identify the two men involved.
Police tracking down suspects
Police are currently tracking down both suspects, and the case is being investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code for theft.
