Viral clips showing two Malaysian men engaged in what resembled a “bumper cars” experience in Kedah has surfaced on social media.
The incident has since prompted a police investigation after the clips went viral.
‘Bumper cars’ reenactment?
In one of the clips shared to the Facebook group Penduduk Sungai Petani, it showed a white Nissan Grand Livina ramming straight into the rear of a Toyota Corolla, causing it to turn almost 90° due to the impact.

The Toyota Corolla driver then retaliated by hitting the Grand Livina several times. Bystanders could be heard saying “Jangan gaduh” (don’t fight) in the background.
Another clip showed a closer look of the Toyota Corolla crashing into the Grand Livina multiple times, destroying its front bumper and severely damaging the other car’s door on the driver’s side.
A person is heard inquiring the cameraperson the identity of both drivers, prompting this witty reply: “I don’t know. I just know both (drivers) are crazy.”

Road rage sparked by alleged hit-and-run
Kuala Muda district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Hanyan Ramlan, said police were made aware of the viral clips at 8.30pm yesterday (Aug 14), reported Sinar Harian.
He added the the altercation occurred at about 1.35pm after the Grand Livina saw his car getting hit by the Toyota Corolla driver, who fled the scene.
“The Grand Livina driver then chased after the Corolla for about 1km until Jalan Sekerat. When the Corolla driver realised he was being followed, he swerved his car and hit the right side of the Grand Livina.

“The Corolla driver also got out of the car and hurled profanities at the other driver before driving away.”
Both drivers involved in the road rage incident are aged 30 and 40 respectively.
The case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving, as well as Rule 10 LN 166/59 for failing to properly control the movement of a vehicle.
