A shocking incident has emerged involving a one-year-four-month-old Malaysian girl who suffered severe genital bleeding after playing in floodwaters.
The case, shared by a doctor on TikTok, @safwapasirtumboh, revealed that the child’s parents were alarmed when her diapers needed changing two to four times daily as they were soaked in blood.
No External Injuries Found
Upon examination, no visible wounds or injuries were detected in the affected area.
However, an emergency bladder scan uncovered that a leech had actually managed to find its way inside the toddler’s bladder.
The doctor explained that the leech likely entered through an opening in the body while the child played in floodwaters without wearing a diaper.
A Crucial Reminder for Parents During Flood Season
The doctor captioned her TikTok post with a stern reminder: “Always be cautious during flood season, especially for young children.”
