Recently, a female car sales assistant shared a screenshot of her conversation with a 19-year-old man interested in buying a car. What caught everyone’s attention was that, despite earning just RM1,100, the man intended to purchase a Proton X70.
In their chat, the young man emphasised his desire for the X70 while inquiring about the monthly payments.
In response, the woman stated that the monthly payment would be more than RM1,200, which is clearly higher than his salary, while also suggesting considering other cars as well.
On a side note, the sales assistant noted that young people aged 17-21 prefer cars such as the X50, Civic, Vios, and City, overlooking options like the Axia or Saga. The common reason they give is— “I’m just not interested.”
She also highlighted that this new generation is indeed challenging to handle.
