An SPM candidate in Penang moved many Malaysians to tears after he was seen managing his father’s burial while still dressed in his school uniform, then returning to sit for his exam shortly after.
The emotional moment was captured in a video shared on TikTok, where the student’s strength and sense of duty touched viewers across the country.
Received news of father’s death moments after leaving exam hall
Reported by BuzzKini, this heartbreaking incident happened at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama Syeikh Abdullah Fahim in Nibong Tebal.
The student, identified as Ahmad Khairuddin, had just finished one of his SPM papers and walked out of the exam hall when his family informed him that his father had passed away.
He stepped out with hope in his heart but was met with news that no child ever wants to hear.

“He walked out of the examination hall full of hope… but what greeted him was the most heartbreaking news. A father returned to his Creator while his son was still fighting for his future. Our deepest condolences to Ahmad Khairuddin, an SPM candidate, on the passing of his beloved father, Ustaz Md Nor bin Jusoh. May the late Ustaz be placed among the righteous. Ameen.”
Student leads funeral prayer and steps into burial pit in full school uniform
Ahmad immediately left to carry out his responsibilities as a son. Still wearing his white shirt and dark slacks, he led the funeral prayer for his late father, Ustaz Md Nor Jusoh.
The video showed him standing at the front of the congregation, reciting the prayer with a calm but heavy heart.
Moments later, he was seen stepping into the burial pit to help with the final arrangements.
Many who watched the clip said it was difficult not to feel emotional seeing a student handle such a heavy moment in the very clothes he wore for his national exam.
The school expressed its condolences, saying they hoped the late Ustaz would be placed among the righteous.

What moved people even more was what happened next.
After completing the burial rites, Ahmad returned to the exam hall to continue his SPM.
It was reported that right after sending his father to his final resting place, he continued his journey as a student with a courage that inspired many.
Teachers and exam invigilators were seen comforting him and offering encouragement as he walked back into the hall.
