A 17-year-old teenage girl met her unfortunate end following a freak accident which saw a temple beam falling right on top of her.
China Press reported that the incident took place at the Shun Tian Gong Temple in Tanjung Sepat at around 8pm yesterday (Apr 7).

According to multiple sources, the victim, identified as Guo Yujie (transliteration) had accompanied her family to the temple to carry out their duties.
While she was cleaning the place, one of the beams, which weighed closed to 1,000kg, suddenly broke and fell on her.

As a result, she died at the scene due to severe injuries. Her body was later sent to the Banting Hospital for a post-mortem.
Guo’s distraught mother later told China Press that she watched the tragedy unfold before her very eyes.
I was so shocked that I stayed frozen in place. When I went to check on her, she was already dead.”
When contacted by the Chinese daily, Kuala Langat police chief Superintendent Mohd Akmalrizal Radzi confirmed the incident and said further details on the case will be released soon.

Shun Tian Gong Temple also released a statement on the incident, saying that it extends its “deepest condolences and sincerest apologies to the family of the deceased.”
It also said that it will cooperate with authorities and fulfill its responsibilities to the best of its abilities.
