In a remarkable display of talent and dedication, 13-year-old Ummi Umairah has clinched the championship in the Junior Vocal category at the 27th World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA).

Held at the Long Beach Performing Arts Center in California, USA, the prestigious competition, often dubbed the “Olympics of the Performing Arts,” attracted elite performers from around the globe.
Competing in the 13-15 age group, Ummi Umairah dazzled the judges with her powerful rendition of Aretha Franklin’s “A Natural Woman.”
Her performance stood out among contestants from various countries, including the United Arab Emirates and South Africa, earning her the top spot in the Junior Vocal category.

Ummi Umairah’s victory is a significant achievement, highlighting her exceptional talent and hard work. It also brings pride to her school, Sekolah Seni Malaysia Kuala Lumpur (SSeMKL), and to Malaysia as a whole.
Notably, Ummi Umairah is the niece of renowned Malaysian pop diva Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza, adding a touch of legacy to her triumph.
Following her win, Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek took to Facebook to congratulate Ummi Umairah. She praised the young singer’s extraordinary talent and dedication, emphasizing the pride she has brought to her school and country.
“This accomplishment is a testament not only to her dedication and hard work but also to the unwavering support from her family, teachers, and friends,” Fadhlina wrote.
The Education Minister highlighted that Ummi Umairah’s success is proof that with high effort and commitment, one can achieve global recognition.
