According to a statement by Tangkak district deputy police chief Idris, police received a report about the incident when a man informed them that his son’s head and back were injured after the aquarium shattered out of nowhere, sending glass shards flying everywhere and cutting his son in the process.

Following the accident, the boy’s parents first rushed him to a nearby clinic before sending him to the Sultanah Fatimah Specialist Hospital in Muar via an ambulance.

Unfortunately, the boy succumbed to his wounds while on the way to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead by paramedics.

Idris added that the autopsy report which was done at around 10am yesterday revealed that the boy’s death was caused by a blunt object. Police have since classified the case as a sudden death report (SDR).

While it’s extremely rare to have fish aquariums shattering all of a sudden, contact a professional immediately if you notice a crack on it!
