As Hari Raya approaches, some contributors have urged the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) to credit all upcoming dividends into Account 3 so they can withdraw the money for festive expenses.
However, EPF has clarified that this request cannot be fulfilled under current policies.
EPF says dividends follow existing allocation formula
In a reply on its official Facebook page, EPF explained that dividend payments are distributed based on the savings balance in all three accounts.
These accounts are the Retirement Account (Account 1), the Wellbeing Account (Account 2), and the Flexible Account (Account 3).

EPF said the dividend allocation is subject to existing rules and cannot be adjusted to be credited only into Account 3.
Dividend distribution is limited by current policy and cannot be changed to credit only into Account 3,” the agency stated in the comment section.

Dividend rate to be announced on Saturday
EPF will announce its 2025 investment performance and dividend rate this Saturday, Feb 28.
According to a media invitation, the announcement will cover both Conventional Savings and Shariah Savings dividend rates.
The briefing will be delivered by EPF Chief Executive Officer Ahmad Zulqarnain at 11.00 am.
