‘You Should Find Another Job’ – M’sian Woman Tells Off Immigration Officer For Her Rude Behaviour

"If you can't handle that, you shouldn't work in customer service."
On August 15, an encounter at an immigration office highlighted the importance of maintaining politeness and respect in customer service roles.

A TikTok video posted by user Rossneeda, recounted an uncomfortable experience she had while waiting at the immigration visa and permit section.

Arriving at the office around 10 a.m., Rossneeda found herself in line for 20 minutes.

During this time, she witnessed a concerning incident involving an immigration officer and two women, believed to be Indian nationals.

The officer harshly scolded the women, one of whom was holding a baby, prompting Rossneeda to feel that the treatment was unwarranted.

In her video, Rossneeda pointed out that while many government staff members are courteous and helpful, some exhibit behaviors that come across as uneducated and disrespectful.

This particular incident deeply bothered her, leading her to step in and address the officer’s behaviour directly.

However, the confrontation didn’t go as she had hoped.

The officer reportedly responded dismissively, questioning why Rossneeda was interfering, which escalated into a verbal disagreement.

Frustrated by the situation, Rossneeda told the officer:

“If she doesn’t like her job, she should find another position rather than working at the counter.

As a government servant, you are supposed to serve the public with respect and empathy. If you can’t handle that, you shouldn’t work in customer service.”

The officer, seemingly unfazed, responded by pointing out the high volume of people at the counter, a justification that did little to appease Rossneeda.

She stressed that customer service should always be delivered with a smile and politeness, noting that those who cannot manage that may be better suited for different roles.

“Everyone deserves respect, regardless of their status or position,” she concluded in the video.
