We’ve got chilli-eating contests, crying competitions, and people queueing at 5am just to race for discounts.
So really, it was only a matter of time before someone said, “Hey, what if we raced…an ostrich?” Turns out, there’s actually a place in Port Dickson where you can do just that.
At the PD Ostrich Show Farm, visitors are invited to sprint alongside a giant bird named Kuntum in what might be the most chaotic (and hilarious) attraction you’ll see all year.
Not your typical animal farm visit
While most farms focus on feeding sessions and photo ops, this one decided to level up and TikTok user @daginglemakciliapi, better known as Syafiq, was lucky enough to witness the madness firsthand.

In his now-viral video, four kids and one adult are seen sprinting alongside Kuntum.
But this wasn’t exactly a fair fight, the ostrich left everyone in the dust without even breaking a sweat.
According to Syafiq, he was actually a staff member whose job is to keep up with the bird during the race.
To top it off, everyone who takes part gets a certificate because let’s be honest, racing an ostrich deserves some kind of award, even if you lose.
Nobody has beaten Kuntum in a race
To get a better sense of what the experience is like beyond the viral moment, we spoke directly with Syafiq about his visit to the farm.

“They do brief the participants first. They explain what to do and what not to do especially to be careful not to get too close to the ostrich.”
Though he didn’t take part in the race himself, Syafiq admitted he had second thoughts. “It was hot, and I didn’t want to get too sweaty,” he laughed. “But after knowing you get a certificate at the end…I should’ve joined.”
He also noted that the staff shared interesting facts about ostriches and how their running speed compares to other animals.
They said so far nobody has beaten Kuntum in a race. Maybe a few came close, but mostly…nope.”
So, what do you get if you do take part?
“You only get the certificate, and a chance to take a photo with the ostrich which is already a major achievement,” revealed Syafiq.
He added that the entry fee includes access to other animals like guinea pigs, rabbits, and sheep, and visitors can even feed them. The ostrich race, however, is only held a few times a day, so listen out for the announcement.
