- They needed to submit a claim to PERKESO.
- Reimbursements took about a month to process.
Now, that entire process is gone. PERKESO contributors can get treatment immediately at panel clinics—no payment, no paperwork, just your identification card (IC) for verification.
Who can benefit?
While this is a huge relief for many, not all medical cases are covered. According to Minister of Human Resources Steven Sim Chee Keong, the free treatment only applies to:
- Workplace accidents (e.g., injuries at construction sites, factory incidents)
- Occupational diseases (e.g., lung conditions from prolonged exposure to chemicals, back problems from heavy lifting)
If your condition is work-related and you’re a PERKESO contributor, you don’t have to pay anything at the clinic.
How to get free treatment

- Show your IC at the clinic counter for verification.
- Receive your treatment—no payment needed.
