Good news for public transport users! Starting July 1, you can buy and activate the My50 unlimited travel pass entirely through your Touch ‘n Go (TnG) e-wallet app, making your commute easier and faster.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke officially announced that the My50 travel pass will soon be available for purchase by all Malaysians via the Touch ‘n Go eWallet.
How to activate the My50 travel pass on TNG eWallet:
Step 1
📱 Download the TNG eWallet app on an NFC-enabled smartphone.
Step 2
🧾 Register an account and complete the eKYC (electronic Know Your Customer) identity verification.
Step 3
🔍 Open the app, search for and select the Travel Pass feature.
Step 4
💳 Tap your Touch ‘n Go card on your phone to link it to the TNG eWallet app.
Step 5
📅 Select My50 Travel Pass and choose your preferred start date.
Step 6
✅ Agree to the terms and conditions, then proceed with payment.
Step 7
📲 Tap your TNG card again on your phone to complete activation.
Once you’re done, you can immediately enjoy 30 days of unlimited rides on Rapid KL trains, MRT, LRT, BRT, Monorail, and Rapid KL buses, including MRT feeder buses.
Why this matters
The initiative is open to all Malaysian citizens and is expected to benefit over 250,000 existing My50 users, while encouraging more urban commuters to shift to public transport.
This digitalisation effort by Prasarana Malaysia in collaboration with Touch ‘n Go aims to make public transport more convenient and accessible, in line with Malaysia’s push for smarter, cashless services.
This step is not just about saving time,” said Mohd Azharuddin Mat Sah, President and CEO of Prasarana. “It enhances the travel experience by giving more flexibility and convenience to passengers.”
This collaboration between Prasarana, Touch ‘n Go, and the Ministry of Transport also marks a larger digitalisation effort. Prasarana plans to expand this approach to other products like the MyCity Pass, reducing reliance on cash and making public transport even more seamless.
