This morning, we reported of a tragic incident which saw a woman falling to her death at an apartment in Bayan Lepas, Penang, while clad in a cosplay attire last night (Sept 3).
Now, more heartbreaking details have emerged following the incident after police revealed that not one, but two lives were lost in the process.
Was 5 months pregnant prior to fall
In a statement by Southwest district police chief Assistant Commissioner Sazalee Adam, he said the victim was identified as 34-year-old Xie Siwei (transliteration).
He added Xie had been under emotional stress after getting dumped by her boyfriend, and decided to end her life by jumping out of the window of her apartment unit at the 28th floor, reported China Press.
Xie’s mother, who was deeply grieved by her daughter’s passing, said Xie had been deeply distressed following the breakup but never expected her to take her own life.
To add further heartbreak to the tragedy, Xie’s mother revealed that Xie was five months pregnant prior to her death.
According to statements from residents, Xie was believed to be living in the apartment with her mother they usually saw the duo entering and leaving the premise.
