Residents at an apartment in Bayan Lepas, Penang, had their quiet night shaken after a woman fell to her death from one of the units.
China Press reported that the incident took place at around 9.10pm last night (Sept 3) and police are currently looking into it.
Woman falls from apartment, body allegedly dismembered
The Chinese daily shared several photos of the fall’s aftermath, where residents and onlookers gathered around to take a closer look of the scene.

China Press also reported that the woman’s body split apart due to the fall’s impact, making the incident all the more gruesome.
Police later arrived at the scene upon receiving a report regarding the fall and the victim’s body was sent to the Penang General Hospital.
However, the cause behind the woman’s fall currently remains unknown.

Found wearing a cosplay costume
The victim was later identified at a 34-year-old married woman who was a fan of cosplaying.
She was found dressed in an anime costume and wearing a red wig at the time of her death.
Police believe that the victim was most likely a resident of the apartment as only residents are given an access card to enter and exit the building.
