A 23-year-old Indonesian woman was arrested after she allegedly boarded a flight while impersonating a flight attendant following her failure to secure a cabin crew position with the airline.
According to a report by Kompas, the incident occurred at around 8pm on Tuesday (Jan 6).
The woman, dressed in what appeared to be a flight attendant uniform, managed to board the aircraft before her deception was discovered.
Detained by authorities
Her ruse was uncovered upon the flight’s arrival at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, where she was detained by authorities.

Jakarta airport police criminal investigation chief Yandri Mono confirmed that investigations showed the woman was not an employee of the airline.
He revealed that she had previously applied for a flight attendant position with the airline but was unsuccessful.
Lied to family about job
Feeling ashamed and guilty towards her family, the woman allegedly lied to them by claiming she had been accepted as a flight attendant.
To make the story believable, she purchased a flight attendant uniform and related accessories online and wore them while boarding the flight.
She wore the airline uniform so that her family would believe she had been hired,” Yandri said.
Suspicion arose when crew members noticed inconsistencies in the design details of her uniform.
They subsequently alerted airport security, leading to her disguise being quickly exposed.
Police also found that the woman had planned to change out of the uniform immediately after arriving in her hometown of Palembang.
