The wife of a motorcyclist who was killed in a horrific accident in Klang last week has voiced her intention to sue the driver responsible for his death for RM1mil.
Speaking to Sinar Harian, Mohd Faizi Che Abu, who is representing Nor Nadia Abdul Majid, said an actual amount has yet to be finalised as several factors need to be taken into account.

“From a legal standpoint, we cannot claim compensation based on emotions as there are calculations to consider, including the victim’s salary and family dependents.
“I will discuss this with my client, but the amount must be determined based on legal principles and precedents from previous cases,” he explained.
What happened in court
Earlier this morning, the driver, R Sakthygaanapathy, was charged with murder for causing the death of Amirul Hafiz Omar on Mar 29.
However, no plea was recorded as the case fell under the High Court’s jurisdiction.

He faces the death penalty or imprisonment of between 30 and 40 years if convicted. If he escapes the noose, he must be caned at least 12 times.
Meanwhile, Sakthygaanapathy pleaded guilty to a separate charge of self-administering benzodiazepine and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) at 3.30pm at the Klang Selatan district police headquarters’ narcotics office on the same day.
June 3 has been set for case mention pending a chemical report.
