Working in Singapore is a dream for many Malaysians due to the lucrative salary. However, the demanding nature of such jobs often takes a toll on one’s mental and physical health.
Recently, a Malaysian woman came under fire for calling her husband “weak” after he expressed his desire to quit his job in Singapore, where he had been working for three years.

This confession, shared anonymously on the X platform by @meinmokhtar, revealed her frustration and worries about their financial commitments if her husband were to leave his job.
“How can I not be worried?”
In her post, the woman disclosed that her family’s financial commitments in Johor Bahru amount to RM4,000 monthly.
She expressed doubt about her husband’s ability to secure a Malaysian job that could match his current income, stating:
Demanding a RM6,000 pay working in Malaysia is already difficult. I am so worried. My husband is so weak, seriously.”
Her choice of words, especially calling her husband “weak,” drew sharp criticism online.
Netizens defend the husband
This post has since garnered the attention of many netizens with over 370,000 views and hundreds of comments.
One user wrote: ‘Married to a robot, are you? Why don’t people understand that men need their mental health too? Work stress and fatigue are no joke. I once had a minor anxiety attack from extreme stress, and that experience alone taught me the importance of mental health.‘

Another commenter highlighted the sacrifices the husband had likely made over the years: ‘It’s not good for you to call your husband weak. He has endured three years for the sake of your family. Men have feelings too, you know.’

Many also criticised her lack of sympathy towards her partner, with one user writing: ‘How can you not feel even a shred of sympathy or pity for your husband? He’s your husband, not your school friend. And you casually call him weak?‘
