Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim sparked laughter in the Dewan Rakyat today when he playfully teased Muar MP, Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, over his outfit.
“Muar isn’t wearing Baju Melayu today? No clothing model today? What are you wearing today?” Anwar quipped, drawing smiles and laughter from those present.
Laughter echoes through the Dewan
The light-hearted remark was met with a wide grin from Syed Saddiq, who was seated in the opposition bloc.
According to Kosmo!, the entire hall erupted into laughter, with some MPs even mentioning popular singer Bella Astillah’s name.
“I’m just joking,” Anwar added after his remark, further adding to the amusement.
A serious question on flood preparedness
Before the exchange, Syed Saddiq had raised an important question regarding proactive measures to tackle floods during the monsoon season and other unforeseen risks in flood-prone areas.
Furthermore, Syed Saddiq and Bella Astillah recently caught netizens’ attention when they were spotted in traditional Malay attire while climbing Mount Kinabalu, leading many to jokingly compare them to a newlywed couple.
