A foreign tourist visiting Malaysia expressed his amazement at Kuala Lumpur’s monorail system, contrasting it with London’s lack of such infrastructure.
In a TikTok video posted by user “@justrolliwithme“, a Mat Salleh expressed that he is impressed by Malaysia’s monorail and wonders why they don’t have one in his country.
London’s lack of a monorail system
In the video, the tourist praised Kuala Lumpur for its efficient public facilities, noting that even though London is the wealthiest city in Europe, it has not invested in a monorail system.
“I don’t understand why London, the wealthiest city in Europe, can’t invest in a monorail system. Please spend the money wisely.” The tourist says.
The video, which includes a screenshot of the tourist’s comments, highlights his confusion over why a major city like London hasn’t been able to invest in such public transportation infrastructure.
He urged the UK government to allocate funds more effectively.
Malaysia’s comprehensive monorail system
Kuala Lumpur’s monorail stations are strategically located in key tourist hotspots, such as KL Sentral, Bukit Bintang, Hang Tuah, Imbi, and Chow Kit, with several shopping centers connected to the network.
Malaysian netizens have praised the efficiency of Kuala Lumpur’s monorail, some even claiming that Malaysia’s public facilities are more efficient compared to London’s.
Additionally, the monorail stations serve as transfer points for other public transportation systems, such as the LRT and MRT, allowing tourists to reach various destinations on foot, saving time and effort.
