A Malaysian teacher recently shared an experience that left them both frustrated and concerned after a student allegedly behaved rudely during a class session.
The story, which was shared online, quickly caught the attention of netizens and sparked discussions about student discipline and respect towards teachers.
Chatting instead of focusing on class
According to the teacher, the incident happened shortly after a Form Three student returned from the discipline room.

Instead of focusing on the exercise given, the student reportedly turned his table around to chat with a friend sitting behind him.
Seeing this, the teacher told the student to stop talking and focus on completing the assignment.
“I told him there was no need to turn his table. If you want to chat, you can do it later. For now, complete the exercise I gave,” the teacher said.
Student’s reply allegedly made the teacher angry
However, the teacher claimed the student responded in a dismissive manner, reported mStar.
The student allegedly replied by saying something along the lines of asking the teacher to be patient because he would do the work eventually.
Dia boleh jawab… ‘hah ye tahulah. Sabar kejap, nak buat la ni. Memang kau silap orang la’.”
According to the teacher, the reply immediately triggered their anger.
“Auto naik darah pahlawan aku,” the teacher wrote, describing how the situation quickly escalated.
Teacher firmly reminded student about respect
The teacher then reprimanded the student firmly and reminded him about respecting teachers and understanding the roles within the classroom.

The teacher reportedly questioned the student’s manners and told him not to speak to teachers in a disrespectful way.
The teacher also told the student that if he had no interest in learning, he could leave the class.
Student eventually kept quiet and continued work
After being reprimanded, the student reportedly went silent and resumed completing the assignment without further conversation.
However, the teacher claimed the student did not apologise for the incident.
According to the teacher, the student now avoids greeting them and even takes a different route to avoid crossing paths.
“Even if he doesn’t want to learn, that’s his loss,” the teacher wrote.
Student discipline is becoming a growing concern
Following the post, many netizens shared similar experiences and opinions about student behaviour nowadays.
Some said students today are becoming increasingly disrespectful compared to previous generations.
Others, including fellow educators, admitted that handling students’ attitudes can sometimes be exhausting.
One netizen who claimed to have nearly two decades of teaching experience commented that dealing with students can be unpredictable.
“Almost 20 years of being a teacher. Sometimes I entertain their antics. Sometimes I just let them be,” the comment read.
