‘We’re Not Fools’ – M’sian Teacher Accuses Mum Of Doing Child’s Homework Due To Neat Handwriting

Hmm...

“Teachers are not fools.”

Recently, a Malaysian mother claimed that a primary school teacher accused her of helping her child with homework simply because of the child’s exceptionally tidy handwriting.

The exchange took place in a WhatsApp group meant for parents and teachers, where the teacher urged parents not to assist their children.

“To parents, please do not help your children with their homework. All teachers are not fools enough not to differentiate students’ handwriting. I will ask the students to rewrite and redo their work.” the teacher wrote.

In the WhatsApp group, the teacher not only accused the mother of helping her child with the homework but also went as far as sharing a photo of the handwritten work.

To make matters worse, the teacher revealed the name of the student to whom the note belonged.

In response, the mother defended herself, saying “As for me, I’m really not good at writing at all. When I write spelling exercises for her to practice, my handwriting is even worse than hers.

“I swear to God, I did not write it. She wrote it herself. I only supervise her. I tell her to write neatly. If it’s not neat and pretty, I ask her to erase it and try again. That’s all.” the mother replied to the teacher in the group.

The conversation took a turn when one of the parents screenshot the exchange and shared it on her TikTok account, @azzura.empire, captioning her video, “I’m really sad this morning when the teacher accused me like this… Allahu.”

In the clip, the mother expressed her frustration, stating, “I am a single mother who tries my best for my children, without expecting help from others. But to be accused like this is disheartening.”

This post has garnered significant attention, racking up over 600,000 views and receiving thousands of comments from netizens.

Reactions have varied widely, with one user commenting, “Wow, the teacher’s language is too much!”

Another added, “Allahuakbar. Stay patient, sis. In my opinion, the teacher shouldn’t use such harsh language. If they genuinely want to address an issue in the group, they shouldn’t mention anyone by name and should message parents privately. We all have our shortcomings.”

Another parent chimed in, sharing a similar experience: “I also faced criticism from a teacher in a WhatsApp group with all the parents present. When I defended myself, the teacher immediately shut down the group, allowing only themselves to message.”
