When OPPO said “hands-on experience,” we honestly expected the usual indoor briefing, nice lighting, and polite nodding.
Instead, we found ourselves at Gamuda Luge Gardens, wearing helmets, clipping into harnesses, and standing at the top of a zipline tower with a phone in hand. This was how OPPO chose to kick off its Reno15 Series 5G experience; outdoors, energetic, and very much not boring.
The idea was simple. If a phone can handle movement, changing light, and real reactions in the wild, it should handle everyday life just fine too.
First things first: group selfies without the arm gymnastics
Before anyone started flying across the park, OPPO asked us to try the 50MP Ultra-Wide Camera 0.6x angle around the venue.
You know that moment when everyone wants to be in the photo, but someone always gets cropped out? Yeah, this fixes that.

With one tap, the frame instantly went wider. Suddenly, we could fit:
- more people
- more background
- even full outfits
All without leaning back, stretching our arms, or sacrificing someone at the edge of the photo.
At the top of the skyride, where space is limited but the view is huge, the wider selfie actually came in handy.
Now add speed, wind, and mild screaming
Then came the zipline.
Once people started taking off on the zipline, things got chaotic fast. Hair flying, bodies moving, reactions happening all at once.
Some of the footage was recorded in 4K HDR Ultra-Steady Video, which helped keep clips watchable even while moving at speed. Despite the bumps and sways mid-air, the footage stayed surprisingly steady and clear.
Around the venue, the 200MP Ultra-Clear Main Camera was used to capture outdoor scenery, crowd moments, and wide shots of the park, keeping details sharp even under bright daylight.

With Motion Photo turned on, we captured moments like:
- the exact second someone pushed off
- mid-air reactions
- that “I regret everything” face just before landing
Later, the AI Motion Photo Popout station became one of the crowd favourites. Instead of relying on third-party editing apps, the Reno15 now lets you create popout-style visuals directly on the phone.
By combining 2 to 9 motion photos with ready-made templates, moving subjects literally stand out from the background turning what would’ve been a regular action shot into a lively, eye-catching visual in seconds.
It’s basically the difference between “I tried to take a photo” and “wow, that actually looks cool.”
Why OPPO chose a zipline instead of a studio
Testing these features in a studio would have been safe. Comfortable. Predictable.
But testing them on a zipline?
That’s where you find out if they actually work.
Between changing light, fast movement, and zero second chances, the 0.6x selfie and motion popout features showed what they’re meant for; capturing moments when things are moving and nobody has time to stand still.
So… would we actually use this?
After the ride (and after our heart rates returned to normal), the answer was yes.
If you like:
- group selfies
- travel shots
- action moments
- or capturing people mid-movement
These features feel practical, not gimmicky.
And if a phone can handle photos while you’re flying across a park, it can probably handle your weekend plans too.
So… how much does it cost?
Since we know this is the part everyone is curious about.
During the session, OPPO also officially announced the pricing for the Reno15 Series 5G in Malaysia. The Reno15 Pro 5G is priced at RM2,999, while the Reno15 5G starts from RM1,999. For those looking for a more budget-friendly option, the Reno15 F 5G starts from RM1,499.
The price reveal marked the start of the Reno15 Series rollout ahead of its first sale.
For now, we can officially say this:
We tested a phone on a zipline, and it survived.
So did we. 😌
