The moment you step onto the Disney Cruise Adventure, something immediately feels different.
Music fills the air, crew members welcome you with bright smiles, and before you even start exploring, you might already spot a Disney character walking past. Within minutes, you realise this is not just another cruise experience.

It feels like stepping into a Disney theme park. Except this one is floating in the middle of the ocean.
As one of the first groups to experience the Disney Cruise Adventure, we quickly realised just how much there is to see and do onboard.
From themed lands inspired by Disney, Pixar and Marvel, to thrilling attractions, Broadway style shows, immersive dining and even fireworks lighting up the sea at night, the ship feels like an entire Disney world.

Even better, the Disney Cruise Adventure now sails directly from Singapore, which means Disney fans across Asia can finally experience it much more easily.
So if you are wondering what it is really like onboard, here is everything you should know before planning your trip.
The moment you step onboard, you realise how huge this ship is
The first thing that hits you when you board the Disney Cruise Adventure is the sheer scale of it.
This is the largest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet and it can accommodate up to 6,700 guests. But surprisingly, it rarely feels crowded thanks to how thoughtfully everything is designed.

Instead of feeling like one giant cruise ship, it feels more like multiple themed worlds connected together.
As you walk through the decks, the environment constantly changes. One moment you might be surrounded by classic Disney magic, and the next you are stepping into a Marvel themed action zone or a colourful Toy Story inspired water play area.
Every corner feels like a new discovery.

And that sense of exploration is honestly part of what makes the experience so exciting.
Seven themed worlds bring Disney stories to life
One of the coolest things about the Disney Cruise Adventure is how the ship is divided into seven themed areas, each inspired by different Disney universes.
Walking through them feels almost like travelling through different Disney movies.
At the centre of the ship is Disney Imagination Garden, a beautiful hub that features a magical castle backdrop, the iconic Sorcerer Mickey statue and a large outdoor stage where live performances happen throughout the day.
It is also one of the most photogenic spots onboard.

Then there is Disney Discovery Reef, a colourful area inspired by underwater Disney and Pixar adventures. The ocean themed environment makes it feel like you are walking through a lively animated reef.

For those who enjoy relaxing outdoor spaces, Wayfinder Bay offers an open air retreat inspired by the adventurous spirit of Moana. It is the perfect place to enjoy the sea breeze while catching live performances under the sky.

Meanwhile, Town Square brings classic Disney elegance to life. This is where some of the most magical character encounters take place, including the Royal Gathering, where you can meet multiple Disney princesses.

It is also home to the Walt Disney Theatre, where large scale Broadway style productions are performed.
Fans of Big Hero 6 will definitely want to explore San Fransokyo Street, a futuristic district inspired by the movie. Here you will find a retro arcade, Baymax themed spaces and entertainment areas designed especially for teens and tweens.

Then there is Marvel Landing, which easily becomes one of the most action packed areas on the ship. If you are a Marvel fan, this is basically your playground, packed with superhero themed attractions and adrenaline filled fun.

And finally, families travelling with kids will love Toy Story Place, a colourful water play zone inspired by Andy’s toy box. From playful water features to adorable Toy Story themed details, even the bathrooms are designed with cute sketches that make the whole space feel like you have stepped right into the movie.

Marvel landing is where the adrenaline kicks in
If you enjoy thrills, Marvel Landing is where things get seriously exciting.
Located on the upper deck, this superhero themed zone features some of the most action packed attractions on the ship.
The biggest highlight here is the Ironcycle Test Run.
This attraction is the first roller coaster ever built on a Disney Cruise Line ship, and it is also the longest roller coaster at sea, stretching more than 820 feet across the deck.

Yes, we actually rode this roller coaster and you have to believe us when we say the view from up there is insane. Racing across the deck so high above the ocean is an experience that feels both thrilling and surreal.
Another fan favourite is Groot Galaxy Spin, inspired by Guardians of the Galaxy. You get to pilot your own spacecraft and spin through the ride while soaring above the deck.

There is also Pym Quantum Racers, a fun ride inspired by the Ant Man universe where oversized toy cars race around a full scale track.

And once you are done with the adrenaline rush, the nearby Infinity Pool and Bar is the perfect place to relax while enjoying the ocean view.

You will randomly bump into Disney characters everywhere
Meeting Disney characters is one of the most magical parts of the cruise. And on the Disney Cruise Adventure, those encounters can happen almost anywhere.
As you explore the ship, you might suddenly find yourself walking past Goofy, Pluto, Mickey or Minnie taking photos with guests.

One of the most popular experiences onboard is the Royal Gathering, where you can meet several Disney princesses in one place. It genuinely feels like stepping into a real life fairy tale.
Fans of Big Hero 6 will also be excited to know that Baymax makes appearances onboard too, which quickly becomes a highlight for many guests.
Because the characters appear throughout the day in different areas of the ship, it always feels like there is a chance you might stumble upon a magical moment when you least expect it.
The entertainment feels like a Broadway show
Disney is known for its entertainment, and the Disney Cruise Adventure truly delivers.
There are more than 40 entertainment experiences happening across the ship.
You can watch classic Disney performances like Disney’s Seas the Adventure, enjoy musical acts, or catch character appearances happening throughout the decks.
There are also brand new experiences created specifically for the cruise, including private karaoke rooms, interactive game shows and the stage production Remember at the Walt Disney Theatre.

The shows are genuinely impressive.
From the costumes to the music and storytelling, it feels like watching a full scale theatre production you would normally see in a major city.
Dinner becomes a whole experience, not just a meal
Dining onboard the Disney Cruise Adventure is more than just eating.
It is part of the entertainment.
The ship features six main dining restaurants, and during your cruise you get to experience three of them through Disney’s signature rotational dining system.

Every evening you dine at a different restaurant, while the same service team follows you throughout the journey. This makes the experience feel far more personal because the staff quickly remember your preferences.
One of the most memorable moments happened during dinner when we were given a drawing activity before the meal started.
Later in the evening, those drawings suddenly appeared on screen and came to life, dancing in iconic Disney scenes.

Watching your own drawings join the Disney characters while you are eating dinner is honestly one of those moments you do not expect but will remember for a long time.
Watching fireworks in the middle of the ocean hits different
One of the most unforgettable moments happens after sunset.
Guests gather on the deck as the night sky suddenly lights up with a spectacular fireworks show over the ocean.
The show pays tribute to The Lion King, with narration by Shah Rukh Khan guiding the experience.
Along with iconic songs playing in the background, colourful fireworks burst across the sky above the ship.

Watching fireworks surrounded by nothing but the sea is honestly a surreal moment.
You might leave with more shopping bags than planned
Before your cruise ends, make sure you save some time to explore the shopping areas onboard.
The Disney Cruise Adventure features nearly 17,000 square feet of retail space, including stores like World of Disney and the National Geographic Store.

There is also the first ever Duffy and Friends Shop at sea, which sells exclusive merchandise that fans will definitely want to check out.
Between the collectibles, Disney themed souvenirs and cruise exclusive items, it is surprisingly easy to leave with more shopping bags than you expected.
Your room becomes the perfect place to recharge
After a long day exploring the ship, returning to your stateroom feels like stepping into a cosy retreat.
The rooms are designed with families in mind, featuring convenient storage spaces, split bathrooms and pull down beds that easily transform the room at night.
You will also notice charming Disney, Pixar and Marvel artwork throughout the room, along with on demand Disney movies and 24 hour room service.

But here is a fun Disney Cruise Line tradition that many first time cruisers might not know about.
Many guests actually decorate their stateroom doors to add a personal touch to their sailing. From Disney magnets and themed decorations to creative handmade displays, the doors often become colourful mini showcases of each family’s Disney spirit.

So if you are planning your trip, you can even bring your own decorations to make your door stand out.
It is a small but fun tradition that makes walking through the hallways feel even more magical.
Each room also comes with a dedicated stateroom host who ensures everything stays clean and comfortable throughout your stay.
The crew makes you feel incredibly welcomed
Another thing that really stands out during the cruise is the warmth of the crew members.
From the dining team to the housekeeping staff, everyone goes out of their way to make sure you feel comfortable and taken care of.

Whether it is remembering your favourite drink, greeting you by name, or simply checking in to see how your day has been, the small gestures from the crew make the entire journey feel more personal.
It is these little touches that add to the overall magic.
