A recent TikTok video has drawn attention to a hazardous road in Johor Bahru, where large potholes filled with water have caused accidents and vehicle damage.
The video, shared by @hafizulmuizz, shows cars such as the Perodua Kancil, Bezza, Myvi, Toyota Yaris, and Honda City “bouncing” over the damaged road, struggling to avoid the water-filled holes.
Water-filled potholes make them hard to spot
The water-filled potholes made it difficult for drivers to detect the hazards, causing many to hit the holes and experience sudden jolts.

Some drivers, however, managed to slow down in time and steer around the dangerous patches.
A red traffic cone was later placed near one of the potholes to alert road users to the perilous condition.
Motorcyclists among the victims
In a separate post, the uploader revealed that two motorcyclists had already been involved in accidents due to the dangerous road conditions.
One incident was captured in the video, where a motorcyclist fell and was assisted by other road users.
Right in front of my eyes, two motorcycles toppled over because of how deep the potholes are. Be careful, especially when riding during the rain, as the risk of skidding is high,” the caption read.
Public response & calls for action
The viral video has triggered conversations online, with many urging authorities to address the issue promptly to prevent further accidents and damage.
Users expressed frustration, noting that such road conditions are not only dangerous but also costly for vehicle owners.
“Johor and potholes are inseparable. My car rim even got bent. No matter how many times they repair, it’s still the same.”

“Road tax that people pay amounts to billions every year… only the public knows the true state of the roads.”
