MUMBAI – A 26-second video of a parked car disappearing into the depths of a sinkhole in the Ghatkopar district has gripped netizens with fear.
In the video, the car’s front end was seen slowly sinking before vanishing completely, leaving only a watery surface behind. The two cars next to it, however, were spared.

Fortunately, there were no passengers in the car when the incident occurred.
According to NDTV, the sinkhole was originally a 30-feet deep well that was covered with concrete before it was converted into a parking lot.
This comes after Mumbai experienced an unprecedented downpour in recent days, leading to waterlogging at nearby areas and overflowing of the Powai lake.
The car owner, Dr Kiran Doshi said that he was alerted of the incident by a man who cleans his vehicle at around 8.30 am.
“We came out onto the passage and before our eyes, the car disappeared into the well.”
The car was eventually fished out of the sinkhole with the help of a crane and submersible pumps to suck out the water.
