TAIPEI – A video has surfaced on Taiwan’s social media showing a massive crane crashing down today (June 3), sending workers fleeing for their lives.
The incident, which took place at the Port of Kaosiung’s Pier 70, was caused by a container ship operated by Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) inching too closely to the dock before colliding with the crane, reported Taiwan News.

In the video, the crane could be seen toppling over the dock and sent containers collapsing like dominoes, along with a rain of debris hailing down from above.

Police reported that a 58-year-old worker surnamed Chang suffered mild injuries to his arm but remains in a conscious state and was sent to the hospital for further treatment.
Two engineers were also buried within the collapsed crane, identified as 31-year-old Yang and 33-year-old Lin. Thankfully, authorities were able to rescue them at 12.44 pm using a 60-meter mast-type jib crane. The men, though traumatized, were unhurt.
