MELAKA – A video clip showing a group of foreign workers letting their hair down at a COVID-19 quarantine center in Malaysia has been making rounds on the Internet.
In the 43-second video, the foreign workers group danced en masse to a Hindustani song blaring in the background.
Many speculated that the video was filmed at a quarantine center in Melaka.
However, Chairman of the State Health and Anti-Drug Committee, Datuk Rahmad Mariman denied the claim, saying that it wasn’t true.
“Some claimed that it took place at the MITC Low-Risk Covid-19 Quarantine and Treatment Center (PKRC)Malaysia, Ayer Keroh.
We can’t determine the exact location yet,” he said when contacted by Kosmo! Online.
Rahmad also reminded the public not to disseminate or share inaccurate information, especially those related to COVID-19.
Also, WeirdKaya managed to track down the original source of the video and was told that the incident actually took place at PKRC Ipoh.
However, several netizens were unhappy over the video, claiming that Covid-19 cases in the state had increased due to the revelling group’s insensitivity.
On the other hand, some said that it was good to see them let loose during these difficult times.
