IPOH – Vehicle convoys will be allowed to be held in Perak in conjunction with National Day celebrations tomorrow (Aug 31).
Perak National Security Council (NSC) director Khairul Ridzuan Mat Said said this only applies to vehicles who have obtained permission from the Perak NSC and police.
He added that will ensure that the standard operating procedures (SOP) will be adhered to and curb the spread of Covid-19.

“During activities that involve crowds such as convoys, it is difficult to maintain social distancing.
“Therefore, those who intend to join one need to get permission beforehand,” he said after attending the National Day celebration at Sultan Nazrin Muizzudin Shah complex at Jalan Raja Musa Mahadi today.
Khairul Ridzuan also said that all applications will be checked and subject to approval.
“We don’t have the exact figures but we have received several applications that need to be checked on a case to case basis.
“Perak is also recording between 800 and 1,000 new cases a day, so we have to be careful,” he said.
He added that the state NSC’s focus will be on government agencies and Malaysians who have completed their vaccinations.
