One of the most classic and iconic features of Malaysian food is that if there’s a chance to “go big or go home”, we would definitely go for it.
This is certainly the case for the beloved roti tisu, where its towering height and size has both shocked and amazed tourists, like how an American woman discovered for herself.
‘This is crazy!’
In the 32-second TikTok clip, it showed the woman named Zahra laughing in disbelief upon seeing the size of the roti tisu being served to her at a mamak stall in KL.
While struggling to control her laughter, Zahra is seen telling a friend off-camera that she was recommended to try the roti tisu to her and thought that it was “just a little snack”.
But to her utmost disbelief, the roti tisu turned out to be anything but “a little snack”, causing Zahra to comment that it looked like a wizard hat and that its size and height was “crazy”.
In the caption, Zahra jokingly called out Malaysians who urged her to try out roti tisu but failed to warned her about how humongous it would be.
“I tasted it and realised I actually need more than this,” she added.
‘You haven’t met the final boss yet!’
The clip, which has since garnered over 670,000 views since it was first posted, saw numerous comments left by Malaysians over Zahra’s shock over the roti tisu.
Many said what she had was just the beginning and that she had yet to face the “final boss” in the form of the KLCC roti tisu.
Meanwhile, a netizen recounted how her roti tisu went to waste after the wind blew it away shortly after it was served to her.
