As the national vaccination rollout program carries on, many Malaysians are still waiting for their turn to get the jab and resume their normal routine.
Yesterday (June 14), medical student Nik Farah Ellisha Mohd Razif, 22, claimed she was prohibited from sitting for her exams as she was yet to be vaccinated.

According to Nik Farah, she had informed the university beforehand that she was reluctant to be vaccinated due to personal reasons.
“But after they forced me into it, I finally agreed to take the vaccine of my chosen brand and informed the university in April.”

However, she was unable to secure a vaccination appointment and went to sit for her exams, which were on June 8 and 9. To her immense shock, Nik Farah was told to leave the examination hall as she was unvaccinated.
“Even after I appealed to them to let me take the exams separately, they still refused to let me in.”

As such, she had no choice but to lodge a police report at the Brickfields District Police Headquarters.
The Chief Activist of the Malaysian Muslim Consumers Association (PPIM), Datuk Nadzim Johan, expressed his support for Nik Farah, saying that the university shouldn’t force students into something they didn’t want to do.

“She is a medical student. Thus, when she refused to take the vaccine, she understood the pros and cons involved.”
He added that the university should educate students on the issue instead of jeopardizing their future in such a manner.
What do you think of Nik Farah’s situation? Should the university allow her to take her exams? Tell us in the comments!
