Terengganu UMNO Youth recently became the subject of online ridicule after a poster they shared showed the Jalur Gemilang with 12 stripes instead of 14.
The mistake prompted UMNO Youth chief Akmal Saleh to call for firm action against those responsible.
Police report instructed against their own members
Akmal said in a Facebook video that he had verified the error was made by a youth wing member responsible for designing the poster.

He directed the Terengganu UMNO Youth to lodge a police report against the person involved.
‘No one is above the law’
I do not want this matter to end with just an apology. Even though the individual is a member of Terengganu UMNO Youth and under my leadership, they must face consequences,” Akmal stressed.
He added that the issue was not political but a matter of respecting the national symbol.
It doesn’t matter who they are, what race they belong to, or their political beliefs. Even if the person is from our own camp, wrong is wrong, and they must face legal action,” he said.
Mistake seen as unacceptable
Akmal reiterated that such behaviour cannot be tolerated, even if the person involved is a friend or family member.
He called for the authorities to take serious action to uphold the dignity of the Jalur Gemilang.
