A stray cat that once called Universiti Malaya (UM) its home has captured the hearts of students, leaving behind touching memories after its recent passing.
One student first discovered her in a bathroom at the Faculty of Business and Economics.
She wasn’t alone. Nestled beside her were several newborn kittens, a sight that was both heartwarming and heartbreaking.
It was heartbreaking at first, but thankfully, there are many kind-hearted cat lovers at UM. The faculty staff even gave her a collar, and everyone worked together to feed and care for her until she became the lively and adorable cat seen in the videos.”

A familiar face in lecture halls
Even though the faculty students did not settle on a specific name for her, many grew to love and cherish her.
Another student shared an image of the feline perched near the lecturer’s desk, casually inspecting the surroundings as if she were part of the academic discussion.

The sight of her confidently strolling into classrooms brought a sense of joy and camaraderie to an otherwise routine campus day.

“She always looked at me with such curiosity,” a student commented, sharing a photo of the cat staring up with her big, expressive eyes. “She was like a little furry buddy to us.”

“She was so clean and adorable,” one post read, reflecting the affection students had for their four-legged companion.

“She was so sweet and adorable, never afraid of people.”

Thank you for being such a wonderful buddy to the faculty and its students. May you run free and happy in heaven, bringing joy just as you did here.
