Such was the case in Johor recently, where a trailer crash at a traffic light intersection left onlookers shocked and sparked widespread discussion.
A dashcam recording of the incident quickly made its rounds on social media, bringing attention to the dangers faced by road users.
The video, originally uploaded to the Facebook page DashCam Malaysia, showed a trailer barreling down from behind, colliding with several cars and motorcycles waiting at a traffic light.
Shared by Syukor Hassan with the caption, “He hit everything in his path,” the footage highlighted the chaotic moment when the trailer failed to stop or slow down.
Driver fails to sound horn or use hazard lights before collision
Those who witnessed the video could see that the trailer didn’t use its horn or hazard lights as a warning.
As a result, the impact was severe, sending a car and several motorcyclists flying forward. Shockingly, the trailer didn’t stop and continued on its way, leaving the scene without hesitation.
Information from Info Semasa Official on Telegram suggested that the incident occurred in Sri Medan, Batu Pahat, Johor, on October 13.
Netizens speculate driver may have suffered health issue prior to crash
The footage has stirred heated reactions from viewers online, with many criticising the driver for not providing any warning.
Some questioned the lack of honking or hazard lights, while others speculated that the driver might have suffered a health issue, such as a heart attack, leading to the accident.
“They could’ve checked the side, but no, they just went straight ahead. Didn’t even bother honking, just kept ramming into things. If it was a heart attack, the driver would’ve collapsed and not avoided the motorcycles. This feels like pure selfishness.”
“Such a jerk move. Even if the brakes failed, the brake lights should have come on, but they didn’t. That means there was no effort to even try pressing the brakes.”
“Was it intentional to crash? If the brakes weren’t working, don’t they know how to honk and alert the people in front? They didn’t even turn on the emergency lights.”
