A traveller recently took to social media to express frustration after allegedly finding their Apple Watch damaged following a security screening at the airport.
Smartwatch goes missing, then reappears broken
The traveller, who was flying out of Malaysia, recounted that during the airport security check, they placed their electronic devices and bag in a tray for screening.
However, after passing through the scanner and completing a body search, she discovered that their Apple Watch was missing from their belongings.
When she inquired with security personnel, they claimed the staff initially ignored them.
Left with no choice, she used the ‘Find My’ feature on their phone to locate the watch, only to hear the alert sound coming from under a staff member’s desk.
According to the traveller, one of the officers retrieved the watch without hesitation or apology.
However, upon inspection, the smartwatch’s screen was completely shattered.

Traveller frustrated over security staff’s attitude
The traveller expressed frustration over the incident, questioning why the watch was placed under the desk in the first place and why security staff did not inform them that it had been set aside.
They also lamented the apparent lack of accountability from airport personnel and described the incident as a “matter of attitude.”
Accompanying the complaint were a clip of the damaged smartwatch, which showed severe cracks on the screen.

Malaysia Airports responds
In response to the viral post, Malaysia Airports addressed the issue and requested further details to investigate the matter.
In a comment, they asked the traveller to provide specific information, including the date and time of the incident, the terminal, flight details, and any additional information about the staff involved.
