Malaysia continues to surprise travellers from around the world — and this group of Dutch tourists is no exception.
Didn’t expect to see skyscrapers in Malaysia
In a recent street interview with the TikTok account @janganstresskitatravel, a group of tourists from the Netherlands shared their honest thoughts after spending three days exploring Malaysia.
When asked what surprised them the most, one traveller responded, “I thought you could only see skyscrapers like this in Singapore, but we found them here in Malaysia. That was quite a surprise for me.”
‘It’s quite different from where we come from’
Another member of the group said Malaysia felt very different from back home.
He was especially impressed with how easy it was to get around thanks to the efficient public transport system, and added that he loved the natural surroundings and modern architecture — something he mentioned isn’t commonly seen in the Netherlands.
Friendly faces & cultural diversity
They also praised Malaysians for being friendly and welcoming, saying they felt comfortable throughout their trip.
One tourist said the thing that surprised him most was Malaysia’s unique blend of cultures living side by side — something he had never seen before.
From smooth train rides to vibrant cityscapes and multicultural vibes, Malaysia clearly left a positive impression on these foreign guests.
