At first glance, a single-storey terrace house in Kelantan priced at only RM73,000 might sound like the deal of a lifetime.
With its neat rows of modern homes and aesthetically pleasing surroundings, it’s easy to see why it caught the attention of one property agent who stumbled upon the listing.
In a now-viral post, the agent admitted he was momentarily stunned by the unbelievably low price.
After all, that figure is even cheaper than a flat on the fourth floor in parts of Selangor.

However, curiosity quickly turned to concern as he took a closer look at the listing photos. The real reason behind the bargain soon became clear: the area is located in a flood-prone zone.
Despite the house’s appealing design and tidy layout, the agent realised that the property had been severely affected by floods.
One of the shared images showed the entire residential area submerged under muddy waters, suggesting that internal damage would be inevitable.

In the caption, the agent had a word of caution for potential homeowners: “Buy at your own risk.”
While some Malaysians took the risk seriously, others decided to turn to humour instead.
One user joked, “If I buy the house, can I move it to KL instead?”

Another suggested, “Why not just build tall apartments or condos in that area? It’s sad for those who bought landed homes there and now have to deal with floods.”

But perhaps the most savage comment came from someone who wrote:
Water park? Nope. Welcome to the water housing park.”

So while the price tag might catch your eye, make sure to check the flood history before you dive in.
