Chinese New Year is usually about balik kampung traffic, reunion dinners and visiting relatives for angpaus.
But one Malaysian pup may have just won the internet after being spotted doing his own festive rounds on a motorcycle.
Sitting in front like a toddler enjoying the breeze
In a clip that has been making the rounds online, a cute dog was seen sitting at the front of a moving motorcycle, calmly taking in the open air like he has been doing this his whole life.
He even wore a diaper and sat upright in front of his owner, looking like a small child enjoying a joyride around the neighbourhood.
Instead of looking anxious or scared, the dog appeared completely relaxed, letting the wind hit his face as if he was on a CNY mission to collect red packets.
“He’s never sat on a bike before”
Speaking exclusively to WeirdKaya, the dog’s owner, Zhen, shared that the whole idea came from him.
It was my idea to bring the dog as he’s never sat on a bike before. Usually he likes to put his head out the car window,” he said.
He said it was Yuji’s first time riding on a motorcycle, and he was surprised at how well the dog handled it and how much he seemed to enjoy the breeze.
For a dog who already loves sticking his head out of car windows, upgrading to a motorcycle ride might have just unlocked a new core memory.
Ready to collect angpaus but got none so far
With Yuji looking so festive and confident, many joked that he was out making CNY house visits, ready to politely sit and wait for angpaus.
When asked whether Yuji managed to score any red packets, this is what he told us:
So far none. Because Chinese people are calculative hahahaha. I’m just kidding. But yes unfortunately none so far.”
Looks like Yuji may need to charm a few more uncles and aunties before his angpau fund sees any returns.
A wholesome CNY moment
While many CNY clips online capture high energy celebrations, Yuji’s little motorcycle ride added a sweet and wholesome touch to the festive season.
Just a good boy in a diaper, enjoying the breeze and soaking in the joy of the ride.
If angpaus were given based on vibes alone, Yuji would probably be rolling home with a full basket by now.
