If you take the LRT to Wangsa Maju early in the morning, you might be greeted not by station staff, but by a very chubby cat sitting proudly in front of the ticket gates.
And no, she’s not lost. She’s basically become part of the station.
A station cat with a job to do
Photos shared by commuters show the calico cat sitting right at the entrance of LRT Wangsa Maju, as if she’s guarding the ticket barriers.
One caption joked that “she starts work as early as 6.30am to guard the gate”, calling her the station’s most dedicated “staff”.

From security guard to mermaid
But like any hardworking employee, she has her break times too.
Other pictures show her sitting upright against a wall with her legs stretched out, earning comments that she sometimes “looks like a mermaid”.

In another moment, she’s completely sprawled on the floor, belly up, clearly in full “tired of working” mode.

Despite looking serious on duty, the cat is extremely friendly.
Commuters have shared photos of petting her, with the cat calmly enjoying the attention. Some even joked that she “helps guard the surau slippers” at times.
Internet fame for the chonky station queen
Malaysians online can’t get enough of her chubby figure and chill attitude.
Many have tagged the cat as “Mofusand of LRT Wangsa Maju”, calling her “comel” and “manja” while joking that she’s the real reason to take the train.
So if you’re passing by LRT Wangsa Maju, don’t be surprised if the first thing welcoming you isn’t the ticket gate…but a chubby cat on duty.
