Two Malaysian anglers got an unexpected adventure after their boat drifted into Singapore waters while they were busy having lunch at sea.
TikTok user @fizreeajie shared that he and his friend were fishing near Pulau Sibu, Johor, when strong winds and currents slowly pushed their boat away from its original spot.
They only realised something was wrong when a Singapore Police Coast Guard (PCG) vessel pulled up beside them.
We were eating lunch and didn’t notice the boat moving. Suddenly, we were already in Singapore waters,” he wrote.
“But the Singapore police were very nice. Thank you officers.”
PCG officers stayed calm, polite & even joked with them
The officers conducted a routine identity check and assured the pair they weren’t in trouble.
One officer explained:
If you entered accidentally, we won’t make things difficult. Some boats run on purpose, that’s different. Even if you didn’t do anything, we still have to check.”
After clearing them, the officer even cracked a joke about fishing and marriage, saying his own wife would “pull his ear” if he went fishing.
The atmosphere became relaxed, and the anglers praised the officers’ friendliness and professionalism.

Such incidents are common during monsoon season, when strong winds and currents can shift small boats without the passengers noticing.
Both Malaysia and Singapore continue to remind fishermen to stay aware of weather conditions and their location at sea.
