SERI KEMBANGAN- Smokes were seen billowing at The Mines Shopping Mall this morning after a shoe shop caught fire here.
Photos and videos of the scene were shared on social media.
Director of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Selangor Datuk Norazam Khamis said that his party received a call to inform about the incident at 11.39am.
“A team of firemen from Serdang Fire and Rescue Station assisted by members from Bangi Fire and Rescue Station and Kajang Fire and Rescue Station rushed to the scene and arrived at 11.52am.
According to him, the shoe shop in the shopping mall was destroyed 100% by the fire.
Extinguishing operations were subsequently carried out by the participating firemen, and the fire was successfully controlled and entirely extinguished at 12.25pm.
Fortunately, the fire did not involve any casualties and the investigation related to the incident is still ongoing.
