[UPDATED] The Exchange TRX Has Electricity Cut Off After Just 1 Day Of Operations

Yesterday (Nov 29), Malaysians swarmed to the The Exchange TRX after it officially opened its doors to the public at exactly 11.08am.

However, it seemed that the auspicious timing didn’t do the mall any favours after the electric supply was suddenly cut off today, plunging certain parts of the mall into darkness.

Barely 24 hours after its grand opening, the electric supply at the high-end mall was brought to an abrupt end.

As seen on photos being widely shared on social media, several shops within the mall were left having to rely on natural light.

According to China Press, the power outage was caused by a short circuit in the electrical wiring.

It was also understood that the mall has contacted relevant maintenance personnel to carry out emergency repairs.

The Exchange TRX’s management later responded by saying that it was a Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) issue which was being dealt with, adding that the power outage affected only certain parts of the mall.

Sin Chew Daily later reported that the electricity supply was restored at around 12pm and quickly crowded with shoppers.

Following its opening, netizens debated over the parking rates at The Exchange TRX, where the starting rate was RM5 for the 1st hour on weekdays:
