A woman has touched the hearts of many after sharing her unexpected experience with a kind-hearted vendor at Pasar Chabang Tiga in Kuala Terengganu.
According to her post, she had stopped by the night market without carrying any cash, as her original plan was simply to pick up her younger sibling from the airport.
Thought vendors would accept QR
With only her mobile phone on hand, she assumed that most vendors would accept QR code payments, as cashless transactions have become increasingly common at markets.
“I thought I could just pay using QR since so many stalls already use it,” she shared. “But the item I wanted was only sold by this one auntie, and she didn’t have any QR code at all.”

Caught in an awkward situation, the woman did not expect what came next.
‘Just pay the next day!’
Instead of turning her away, the vendor calmly offered an unexpected solution. She told the woman not to worry, asked her to take the item first, and suggested that she return the next day to make payment.
She was so relaxed about it. She told me to just take the goods and pay tomorrow. At that moment, I thought to myself, this is Terengganu.”

The gesture of trust left her deeply moved. She described the vendor’s actions as sincere and driven purely by a desire to make things easier for her, regardless of whether they knew each other.
“Whether she knows me or not doesn’t matter. She just wanted to help. No wonder this state feels so peaceful and happy,” she added.
Reactions
Her story resonated with many netizens, especially those who have had similar encounters in the East Coast states.
Several people took to the comments section to share their own experiences of trust and generosity shown by Terengganu vendors.
‘Whether she knows me or not doesn’t matter. She was just trying to make things easier for me. No wonder this state is so happy.’

‘I once bought kaftans at Pasar Payang, almost RM300 in total. Wanted to pay by QR, but the line was slow. Tried bank transfer, still slow. No cash, ATM was far. In the end, the seller said, ‘Just take it first, you can come back later to pay. No need to rush. Go walk around first, come back later.’ All while smiling. Well, this really is the happiest state.’

‘I experienced this too last year. I didn’t have cash and the auntie said it was okay, just use QR. In the end, no matter how much my kids bought, the auntie just treated it as charity. She even gently patted my daughter Izzara’s head and told her to study hard.’
