We all probably have certain ingredients we don’t wish to see in our food due to our personal dislike for it and would usually instruct the cook to not add it in.
A man in Thailand was so upset by the fact that chives were added into his Pad Thai order that he went completely bonkers and proceeded to stab his own leg with a knife.
Thai man hurts leg with knife after chives get added into Pad Thai
The bizarre event took place last Saturday morning (Apr 5), when officers from Chonburi Province’s Napha District received a report of a 32-year-old man named Thakorn (transliteration) going absolutely berserk inside a convenience store.
When the officers arrived at the scene, they saw the man holding on to a 30cm-long knife and was bleeding profusely from his leg, reported Channel 7.
Several rescue workers were later called to the scene as well, where they discovered Thakorn had sustained a stab wound to his left leg. He was sent to the Chonburi Hospital after receiving first-aid treatment.
When questioned by police for his behaviour, Thakorn said he had ordered Pad Thai and specifically told the vendor not to put any chives into it. However, he found the exact opposite when his meal arrived.
Out of frustration, Thakorn threw the food away but was still told to pay for it by the vendor, leading to a verbal argument which caused him to completely snap and stab his leg with the knife.
Not under the influence of drugs
Thakorn’s boss, Thanakornpoj (transliteration) later revealed that he had to intervene in order to calm Thakorn down after seeing him waving the knife aggressively and shouting.
He also added that Thakorn didn’t take any drugs and found his sudden outburst to be rather alarming.
Police said thet are currently investigating to uncover the reason for the incident and arrest the suspect before pursuing legal action.
