27yo Thai Man Drinks Entire Bottle Of Liquor For RM3.9K, Later Dies From Alcohol Poisoning

Stunt gone fatally wrong.
A man in Thailand who acted on an offer to imbibe an entire bottle of alcohol in one sitting in exchange for money has reportedly died from alcohol poisoning.

Thai media reported that the victim was a 27-year-old influencer named “Bank Leicester”, who was offered 30,000 baht (approx. RM3,900) to consume the alcohol as part of a social media stunt.

In a reel shared on Facebook yesterday (Dec 26), it showed Bank chugging down an entire bottle of liquor while several onlookers watched.

While the clip seemed to suggest that Bank was unfazed after performing the drinking stunt, another reel showed him slumped on his side before the camera cut to him being carried out on a trolley by several men.

Unfortunately, the stunt proved to be fatal as Bank was pronounced dead at about 3.40am, which was later confirmed by a friend who posted a photo of his corpse at the hospital.

Following Bank’s death, the group who had challenged him to drink the bottle of liquor subsequently deleted every clip and photo related to the incident.

A renowned Thai doctor later took to Facebook to reveal that alcohol poisoning most likely caused Bank’s death:

Drinking large amounts of alcohol in a short period can lead to acute alcohol poisoning. This is because alcohol is continuously consumed without the body having enough time to process and eliminate it.

“Additionally, it can cause one’s blood alcohol levels to skyrocket, thus increasing the risk of choking, vomiting, breathlessness, respiratory arrest and loss of consciousness,” he explained.

Currently, the police are probing the incident to potentially file legal action against those who encouraged Bank to perform the stunt. A post-mortem has also been scheduled to determine the cause of his death.

Was often bullied for his disability

According to Thai media, Bank was born into a destitute family and began selling flower garlands to support his grandmother when he was only seven years old.

Over time, he gained popularity thanks to him rapping while selling the garlands.

However, he also had his fair share of childhood troubles, where he was often picked on by others due to his special needs, where one incident saw him being tricked into eating bones by four teenagers who lied about wanting to buy every flower garland from him.
