Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT) has confirmed that two of its students died in separate falls at a condominium in Wangsa Maju, Kuala Lumpur, within 24 hours.
The first incident took place early Wednesday (20 Aug) morning at about 6.56 am, when a 23-year-old female student reportedly fell from the 22nd floor of the condominium.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.

TAR UMT later released a statement expressing condolences and said it has extended support to her family, friends, and roommates.
Second case took place at the same condo
The second case occurred later that night involving a male student, who also died after a fall at the same condominium.
In another statement today, the university once again expressed sadness and assured that assistance is being given to his friends while investigations are ongoing.
Police are investigating both cases, while TAR UMT is carrying out an internal review. The university said it will continue cooperating with the authorities and provide the necessary aid to those affected.
Couselling and Support Services available
Alongside its condolences, TAR UMT reminded students that counselling and emotional support services are always available. “Reach out. We’re here to listen, to support, and to be there for you,” it wrote in a post.
The university encouraged students to contact its Counselling and Support Services under the Department of Student Affairs through this link or make an appointment here.
